Paul Oseso (extended Bio)
Paul was born in Nairobi, Kenya where he attended school and later joined
the Swiss Hotel and
Tourism School,
and attended
Kenya
Utalii College. He joined the Nairobi Hilton
International upon completion. While with the Hilton, Paul traveled
extensively and had brief stints at both the Nile and the Ramses
Hiltons in Cairo, Egypt.
After seven years at the Hilton, Paul joined the
prestigious 19 Food and Beverage outlet Safari Park Hotel after its
$60 million renovation, where he worked as a manager for three years
prior to joining the world famous Norfolk Hotel. While at the
Norfolk, he also worked at the sister properties in the
United Kingdom namely, the
London
and Birmingham Metropole Hotels. In his 20 years of hotel management
experience in Kenya, Paul was involved in contracting with major
tour operators both locally and internationally and organized
Familiarization Trips .
Paul and his family
immigrated to the United States in March of 2001 where he managed
hotels in San Francisco
and Palo Alto in California. Amidst his busy schedule, he also
pursued a degree in Business Management from the
University of Phoenix.
His entrepreneurial spirits led him to later owning two Days Inn
motels in San Jose,
CA.
He
disposed of both properties two years ago. Paul is also the Founder
and Co-Founder of a hotel consultancy firm and hotel and institution
supplies company.
He is a long time member
of Rotary International and an active member of the University
Rotary Club of Palo Alto. He is a member of Tiba Foundation, a
San Francisco based organization comprising mainly
doctors from Kaiser
Hospital.
The Foundation provides medical care in a remote area in the western
part of Kenya and is
currently building a state-of-the-art hospital there.
He volunteers at the Opportunity Center
in Palo Alto, which cares for the homeless and the Stevenson House,
an elderly people’s home in Palo Alto.
Paul resides with his wife and 4 children in Santa Clara.
He is an avid reader and also plays occasional golf in his free
time.
